About Us

The Spokane Flour Mill is a magnificent turn-of the century historic site on the north bank of the Spokane River in downtown Spokane.  Built in 1895, it was among the many buildings designed to utilize the power of the mighty Spokane River in the early part of the 20th century.

After its long and controversial history* as a Flour Mill, it achieved further greatness in the mid-1970’s, when it was designated as an Historic Site.  Its unique architecture was preserved as it underwent a complete transformation.

The Flour Mill was redesigned into a retail shopping site for Expo 74, which took place just one block from The Mill.  By the time this event opened, the historic mill housed dozens of locally owned businesses and eateries and was the new “hot spot” in Spokane.  The three floors above the retail shops were transformed into an office complex.

Since that time, this beautiful historic building has remained a delightful source of unique dining and wonderful shopping.  Clinkerdaggers, one of Spokane’s most beloved restaurants, remains where it began in 1974, overlooking the river.

On the main floor, are a world import shop, a gourmet kitchen shop, a chocolatier, a tobacco shop, a jewelry designer and a popular nail studio.  One floor down is an authentic Chinese restaurant, an old time photo studio as well as a center for therapeutic massage.

Come in and explore these unique, locally owned, shops and restaurants filled with one-of-a-kind products and experiences. The historic atmosphere is delightful and the customer service is outstanding.
